Hope your fitness goals are going good this week! I thought I would take some time today to complain a little. Did you forget my blog is called thecomplainingrunner? Haha! I sure didn’t!
I’m knee deep into my really intense weeks before tapering and my body knows it. I seriously feel like I could just run, eat and sleep – which is basically I guess what I’m doing anyway with a little work scattered in between. It just doesn’t feel normal. I feel like the overweight girl from Now and Then. She says at one point, “Guys, you know I have to eat every hour or I feel lightheaded.” I honestly want to eat every hour. My hunger is never ending. Just ate a banana and I’m thinking about what I can eat next. It’s really disturbing and feels unnatural, but I guess my body is trying to tell me something.
I am also tired ALL THE TIME! I think that this what having a new born must feel like. I just want to sleep. all. the. time. Everyone always says that exercise is supposed to give you energy, but for some reason I don’t think they are talking about people running 35+ miles a week. Who knows though!
I also feel like I’m 90 years old when I get out of bed in the morning. My whole body aches, especially my back and knees. Its horrible. I want to feel like a 24 year old again!
Well I know I complain about all of that, but I am so very pumped for this marathon! It will seriously be the biggest accomplishment of my life so far. It is pretty cool to be able to say that you ran a full marathon! I just need to get through the next 2 weeks and then it will be smooth sailing! My sister, Kelly, is running the IMT Des Moines Half Marathon with me, so I’ve very excited that my mom and her will be visiting that weekend and will be able to share my accomplishment with me! Really looking forward to October 21!
