It’s 2013! A new year full of resolutions and goals. Last year my running goal was to run a full marathon…And…I did it! This year I have to look a little deeper to figure out what I want to get out of running in 2013. Some may be distance goals, some may be mental goals. Here is what I do know that I want to accomplish in 2013:
- Run a sub-2 hour half marathon.
- Run a PR marathon.
- Incorporate more hill training into my runs.
- Mentor/train youth in running.
So there you have it. They are in writing now so that means I can’t go back on any of them – right? 🙂
My best half marathon time is 2:13. I know have a sub-2 hour time goal seems a little lofty – a whole min/mile faster! Seems a little daunting but I know I can do it if I commit to more speed/hill training. Since my first marathon in October at 4:54, I have caught the marathon fever. I can’t wait to do another one, hopefully with my sister this time and I would be more than happy with a PR! My last goal has been something that I have been thinking about for awhile now and I have the perfect opportunity to help out young girls that are interested in being active. I would love to have such a positive impact on someones life, especially through running!
You have to put your goals on paper – otherwise they are just some thoughts dancing around in your head. If other people know about them it will motivate you much more!
