The weather sure is getting more spring-like here! The down side is my life has been crazy busy, preventing me from getting in all the training I would like. I only have 2.5 weeks of this semester left, so it’s down to the wire.
When I set goals for myself, I hate when I don’t reach them. My sub 2 hour half marathon was a goal I set for myself in January. As of right now, I haven’t been able to put the time into my training that I thought I was going to be able to. It was stressing me out – big time.
This week, I decided something. I wasn’t going to let this keep stressing me out. I WILL run a sub 2 hour half marathon, someday. It might not be my May 5th half marathon though. So, I need to set a more realistic goal for myself then, right?
How about running along side my best friend, Erynn, on her first half marathon (whoo hoo!) in tutus?? I think YES! It is called the Diva Half Marathon, so I figure we should dress the part and have fun. I’m done stressing about a time goal. This is my vacation for the year and I am now determined to have fun and experience Erynn’s first half marathon with her.
It took a lot for me to admit I’m not on track to meet my sub 2 hour goal, but it is all about mind set. You have to choose how you react to situations. I am choosing to positive and make the most out of this cool experience and my first run in San Francisco.
I’m looking forward to warmer weather and lots more running!
